Carmelita S. Gonzales, a longtime member of DBSA Albuquerque and a past chapter board member, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012, at the age of 70.

Carmelita’s warmth and energy was a welcome addition to every support group she attended, and her loss was greatly felt by all who were fortunate enough to have her in their life.

From Carmelita’s service, this Mary Frye poem was chosen to honor her life.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
