Elizabeth Martin from OptumHealth NM and several CSA representatives will be on a panel to discuss:
What is a CSA?
How do they work?
How can it work for me?
What is a Core Service Agency? From the New Mexico Behavioral Health Collaborative website:
The concept of Core Service Agencies (CSA’s) for children and adults builds upon the Clinical Home approach to care coordination by engaging consumers, coordinating comprehensive assessments that involve the consumer, family and other key supports, creating consumer-drive service plans and providing/ coordinating a range of prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery services.
A Collaborative-appointed CSA Work Group has developed specific recommendations about what services a CSA should provide or be able to access; what the role of the CSA will be in relation to Member Agencies, Local Collaboratives, OptumHealth New Mexico, and other service providers; what will be expected of a CSA; and how certain CSA services can be financed through Fee for Service Medicaid and non-Medicaid funding. CSA Work Group membership includes representatives from the Local Collaboratives, Behavioral Health Planning Council, statewide provider groups, Value Options, and Collaborative member agencies.
This event is a great opportunity to get better informed on this exciting new initiative. DBSA Albuquerque will have a table at the event, so you can drop in and say hello to us as well.
