DBSA Albuquerque Yard Sale Fundraiser – Donate Your Spring Cleaning Odds & Ends

DBSA Albuquerque will be having a yard sale fundraiser in the coming months. While waiting out the infamous New Mexico spring winds, we’ll be accepting donations of any household items, electronics, games, books, clothes, or anything else you think might raise a few coins for our self-sufficient nonprofit organization.

We’ll be collecting items at our Thursday night support groups, or if you need to arrange a pick up of your donations, you can email info@dbsa4albq.org or call Steve at 505 514 6750.

We’ll also be looking for volunteers to staff the garage sale in shifts over the chosen weekend (to be determined… as said, we’ll wait out the spring winds before having the sale). If you’d like to volunteer, you can email info@dbsa4albq.org or call Carlee at 505 382 4479.

Thanks for your consideration!

Elizabeth Martin from OptumHealth NM and several CSA representatives will be on a panel to discuss:

What is a CSA?
How do they work?
How can it work for me?

What is a Core Service Agency? From the New Mexico Behavioral Health Collaborative website:

The concept of Core Service Agencies (CSA’s) for children and adults builds upon the Clinical Home approach to care coordination by engaging consumers, coordinating comprehensive assessments that involve the consumer, family and other key supports, creating consumer-drive service plans and providing/ coordinating a range of prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery services.

A Collaborative-appointed CSA Work Group has developed specific recommendations about what services a CSA should provide or be able to access; what the role of the CSA will be in relation to Member Agencies, Local Collaboratives, OptumHealth New Mexico, and other service providers; what will be expected of a CSA; and how certain CSA services can be financed through Fee for Service Medicaid and non-Medicaid funding. CSA Work Group membership includes representatives from the Local Collaboratives, Behavioral Health Planning Council, statewide provider groups, Value Options, and Collaborative member agencies.

This event is a great opportunity to get better informed on this exciting new initiative. DBSA Albuquerque will have a table at the event, so you can drop in and say hello to us as well.

If you have any questions on the event, call NAMI of Albuquerque at: 505-256-0288
