DBSA Event: National Free Fishing Day at Tingley Beach in Albuquerque – Saturday, June 4

Our goodly president Sonya caught wind of a great free event for our chapter the first Saturday of June.

National Free Fishing Day at Tingley Beach in Albuquerque!

June 4th, 2011: SATURDAY 8:30am to 11am

We meet at the church (where our weekly support meetings are held) and carpool at 8:15 am.

Directions: From I-25, take exit 226B to merge onto I-40 W toward Gallup. From I-40, take exit 157A for Rio Grande Boulevard. Turn right at Rio Grande Blvd. Turn left on Tingley Drive. Turn right into the main Tingley Beach parking lots. (Extra parking is located on the right if you continue down Tingley Drive.)

Bring your own fishing equipment for this event. Bring sunscreen, hats, water, snacks, etc. You are still welcome if you do not fish. Bring fold up chairs if you have them. Bring your children and/or family members if you like. All are welcome. Let’s hit the Beach!

Petroglyph National Monument hike to be rescheduled

If you stepped outside last Sunday and realized (rightly) that it was too cold and too windy to go for the scheduled hike in Petroglyph National Monument, don’t fret, the hike will be reschedule for a hopefully brighter and sunnier afternoon.

Rather than trying to project three weeks out what the weather might be like, an announcement will be made at the Thursday meeting prior to the rescheduled event date. This should be happening either the second or third week or May.
